Aesculus pavia, known as red buckeye is a beautiful deciduous flowering small tree. It is native to the southern and eastern parts of the United States, found from Illinois to Virginia in the north and from Texas to Florida in the south. It prefers light shade to partial sun. Red Buckeye is rarely bothered by either insect pests or disease organisms; it is hardy to Zone 4 or 5. It is fabulous in bloom with red flowers!
