As our region continues to rebuild after Hurricane Helene, we will have live stakes available for purchase at this years sale. A live stake is a dormant plant cutting that should take root when pushed into suitable soil. Live stakes are the most efficient way to restore streambanks and prevent further erosion on steep slopes.
Grey Twig Dogwood are native to the area and a great shrub for stream banks. The white berries attract birds and other beneficial wildlife. These shrubs can grow 5-10′ tall and are best grown in full to part sun.
