Deciduous conifer with russet fall color. Great for wet and swampy areas, but will grow just fine in urban conditions. It does well as a street tree or in parking lots. The heavy, straight-grained, rot-resistant wood has been used for various purposes, including barrels, railroad ties, and shingles. The tree reaches 50-70′ tall and 20-30′ wide.
