A 1978, North Carolina State University release, the berries of Powderblue Rabbiteye blueberry are a very pretty, light blue color. They are medium in size, with excellent firmness, and they have a delicious, sweet (even slightly tart) flavor. Powderblue has an upright, spreading growth habit, and are an excellent choice for using in the edible/ornamental landscape – it has fall foliage that is yellow-orange in color. Powderblue is also a good choice for commercial plantings, and has shown good freeze resistance, as well as a good resistance to overall disease. Pollination: Cross-pollinators are Alapaha, Brightwell, Tifblue and Ocklockonee.
Plants at least 3 varieties of blueberry for cross-pollination.
