Description
Bare Root Size: 30 – 36″
A 2004, University of Georgia release, the Vernon Rabbiteye Blueberry has a vigorous growth habit and is one of the earliest ripening of the rabbiteye varieties. With its later flower development, it is also more resistant to freeze damage than many of the other early ripening varieties. Vernon produces a very good yield of large, flavorful berries, that have good color, are very firm, and have small, dry stem scars. As you might expect with all of these very positive quality attributes, Vernon has also proven to be well-suited for mechanical harvesting, and has demonstrated very good storage and shelf-life properties.
Pollination: Cross-pollinators are Alapaha, Climax, Premier and Brightwell.
Plants at least 3 varieties of blueberry for cross-pollination.
