Description
AU (Auburn University) Rosa is a large, firm, high quality plum similar to Santa Rosa with red or yellow skin and yellow flesh. The growth habit of this tree is characteristic of Santa Rosa, with an upright vase shape consisting of narrow branch angles. AU Rosa plum is an Auburn University release developed to be disease resistant in the Southeast. Trees of AU Rosa are upright with dark green leaves, vigorous, disease resistant, and long lived. The plant is self-fruitful, flowers profusely, and sets a heavy crop. The AU Rosa has proven its ability to produce high yields of excellent quality fruit where other varieties have struggled. It is an early maturing cultivar that produce fruit of excellent size and quality. The fruit has dark skin and yellow flesh and reaches 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter.
It is suggested that you have another plum tree for cross pollination in order to ensure a good crop of plums.
